Explore your creative relationship with the Sonoran Desert
Location: Desert Discovery Center, Tucson Mountain Park, AZ
Instructor: Lee Ann Woolery
Engage in a sensory and place-based exploration of the Sonoran Desert. Let curiosity lead your creative investigation of the local habitat. In this 3-hr introductory class, you will learn these skills: keen observation, focused sensory attention and pattern recognition, that lead to awareness, understanding and a deeper connection to the land. As we walk the land and learn about biodiversity, we will visually map our creative rivers; write a place-based poem, “I am from” and create a sound composition from the rich melodies heard in the desert landscape. All levels of experience welcome. Materials list forwarded after registration. (Bring your own materials due to covid-19). Ages 18 & Up.
Registration fee - $50 per workshop.
